Kenneth Fung, MD, MBA, FACS Dr. Fung graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s of science degree in biology and subsequently researched corneal angiogenesis at The Duke University Medical Center, work directly related to current treatments targeting retinal vascular diseases. After receiving a master’s degree in physiology at North Carolina State University, he went on to complete a combined program with a doctorate in medicine and master’s of business administration from East Carolina University in 2003. Dr. Fung then completed ophthalmology residency training at the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 2009, during which time he created and implemented an ophthalmology board review course for fellow residents.

Dr. Fung then completed a two-year vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at The Charles Retina Institute in 2009, a program specializing in the advancement of innovative surgical treatment of retinal diseases. During fellowship, Dr. Fung was twice nominated as an Annenberg Fellow and received the 2009 Lewis Award from The Hamilton Eye Institute as the clinical faculty member demonstrating the most outstanding commitment to teaching.

Dr. Fung joins the Retina Institute of Washington from a neighboring Seattle practice, Eye Associates Northwest. He specializes in the management of medical and surgical diseases of the vitreous and retina, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular pucker and holes, complex retinal detachments, retinal vein occlusion, and uveitis. Dr. Fung is committed to providing treatments tailored to the individual patient, based on a foundation of care, compassion, and communication.
