
Christopher Chapman, MD graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor of science degree in biophysics. He also attended the University of Washington School of Pharmacy.
Dr Chapman graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1986. He completed his internship at the UCLA – Harbor Medical Center. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan where he served as chief ophthalmology resident.
At the NIH- Oakland Eye Research Institute in Rochester Michigan. Dr Chapman was a research fellow in vitreoretinal pharmacology under Dr George Williams, Dr Michael Trese, Dr. Mark Blumenkranz and Dr. Deborah Iversen.
In Sacramento California, he completed his Vitreoretinal surgery fellowship with Dr. Lawrence Morse, Dr. Jeffrey Benner and Dr. Thomas Chu.
Dr Chapman served as attending vitreoretinal specialist at the Dartmouth – Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon New Hampshire where he also served as Ophthalmologist-In-Chief. He developed the artificial vision research laboratory in the Borwell Center at Dartmouth. He also established the first formal clinical trial in retinal therapy.
At the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, he served as assistant professor of ophthalmology mentoring clinical Vitreoretinal fellows, ophthalmology residents and medical students.
Dr Chapman specializes in the full spectrum of medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal disorders including, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment and uveitis
